In 2002 -2003 as Argentinians confronted a huge economic crisis, which ended with the election of Nestor Kirchner for the presidency, tango was a shelter to escape reality.
The tango, a mixture of passion and melancholic music, lyrics and dance, with very melodramatic stories serves as a mirror that reflects Argentinians.
Through that mirror is possible to see the feelings of power, passion, obsession, desire and seduction so characteristic of the Argentinean people.
Last year Tango was declared part of the world's cultural heritage by the United Nations.
